What did we do today? Hmm, nothing. Watched a lot of tv, played in the playroom (made towers, and had lots to "eat"), made a quick run to the hardware store and the library. Got the parts I need to finish a project that I have been looking at for several weeks now, and something to read (finally). The kids drove me to the brink of insanity (ah, I'm familiar with this brink, though - I visit it multiple times a week). Hubby got stuck in traffic coming home, so we started dinner without him :-( then he took Abby (and the dog) for a nice long walk and I put Josh to bed and had a few minute to myself (see previous post, posted during these few precious minutes). Anyway. Not a thrilling day.
I thought I might get the glaze coat of paint up on the bathroom tonight, but opted to share a bottle of wine with hubby instead. S'ok by me - the glaze coat will go up eventually. Maybe mom and I can do it tomorrow (haha - I have lots of other plans for tomorrow!)
Did I mention there is a spider living in our mailbox?
And that the dog killed a rabbit this afternoon - right in front of me - GROSS!!
Yeah, that's about it from me tonight.

Happy to be me
Wow, am I glad I'm not famous. I recently started a subscription to Star magazine (it was free, and I like to read People occasionally, so I thought I would enjoy it); well, I am not really enjoying it. What I am realizing from reading it each week (this is my third week) is that I am really, REALLY glad I am not famous. I am my own worst critic, but the people that write for these magazines are HARSH! As if it's not hard enough to live your life, but to live it with everyone watching and writing and critiquing has to be awful. I am so happy to be just me.

Day 1
It's Monday. The day started early - like 5 am early. As far as I'm concerned, there is only one 5:00 in my day - and that's a pm! So, when Josh decided it was time to be up, I disagreed. I got up and nursed him and put him back into his crib. I was back in bed by 5:40. Slept until 6:40 at which time Abby decided it was time to start the day (and I realized I had been asleep). Mike was up and dressed and Josh was awake, so I guess it was time for me to move as well. No time for a shower today, drat. Got myself presentable (we did have a play date scheduled after all) and hauled the kids downstairs for breakfast. No one was interested (except me and when the kids aren't interested in eating, that means there's no time for mommy to eat). So, off to watch Abby's "show". I folded some clean laundry with the ultimate movite of finding something for the kids to wear. Mission accomplished (yes, I folded the rest of the clothes...well, most of them), I then dressed the kids. Josh was doing his grumpy routine, so I put him back to bed, thinking - hey it's 8:00, maybe he'll be up in time for us to make it to the park at a reasonable hour (we've been 30-60 minutes late to our play dates lately because of his naps).
Ah, finally, a few moments to sit and watch tv (Abby) and do puzzles (me) in peace. Josh woke up around 9:15, so we just got ready and left - went to the bank and then headed to the park. Had a very nice time at the park (despite Abby sliding off the metal merry-go-round-type thing and saying she wanted to go home), until the local school showed up with about 100 kids in tow. So, we all left the park and headed to the McDonald's that had a playland. Ate and then went home. I managed to keep Abby awake, but Josh was a goner. Put him back in bed and let Abby watch Max & Ruby, then put her to bed. I did some puzzles and then I went to bed.
Afternoon was pretty slow. After naps, we went to BJ's and had a snack - I love that I can get 2 pretzels and a huge drink for $2.30. It makes my day! Wandered around for a while and then headed home. Played with the kids and then tried to do dinner- no takers. So, by 7:00 everyone was ready for bed. Josh was down by 7:30, Abby by 8:00. Mike came home and I finally had my dinner. We watched some tv (he's still watching) and now I'm ready for bed.
Woo hoo - wasn't that exciting! I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings :-)

Brain fart
It's a technical term. I started this blog with the intention of keeping friends and family up to date as to the going's on in this family. But at the end of the day, I don't think that the things we've done during the day warrant writing about (let alone asking you to read about them). But maybe I'm wrong. So, for the next few days, I will log on and let you know what we've done during the day. We'll see just how worth our efforts it is!

Reader's slump
Heard of writer's block? I think I have reader's slump. I haven't read a good book in a long while. Now that it's summer and there is nothing (NOTHING) good on tv, I am even more desperate for a good read. Something light, but not fluffy; grippy, but not freaky; suspensful, but not unbelievable. Any recommendations?
