Bragging

Last night, DS, age 2 1/2, spelled his own name. I have his name spelled out above his closet. As he was lying on the changing table, getting ready for bed, we hear, "Aye OOO Ssh Ech U Aye, Oshua". DH and I just stared at him. Simply stuned. Then he did it again. And then he said the letters as DH pointed to them. How cool is that?!?!? No really, I don't want answers to that question. Guess all the "SuperWhy" (PBS) in the morning is doing SOME good, eh?

Playing Hookie

Remember those days when you'd call in sick to work and take a "mental health" day? Meaning, you weren't really sick, but you didn't want (or couldn't) take a vacation day? Yeah - how does that work when you are a stay at home mom????? Any ideas? :-)

Today we are once again TRAPPED inside our home. No school. The snow that (finally) started to fall around noon yesterday piled up to about 4 inches by dinner time. By bedtime, it turned to freezing rain. This morning, everything is icy and frozen. BUT it's supposed to reach the high 30's later today and they are calling for up to 1" of rain. Should melt that snow but good. We'll see. Right now it's not doing anything. It looks kinda slushy out there. I should go shovel the driveway and front path before it freezes again tonight. Or do I dare trust the weathermen and let the rain take care of it? Right - I'll go out when the kids take their naps (HAHAHA!)

Another fabulous snow day

See post dated December 13.....
We have about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. And schools are closed. I understand that there is possibly some bad weather coming (read "wintery mix"), but come ON. Seriously?? It's not doing ANYTHING right now. And there isn't even enough snow to go out and play in it. What a waste.
Add to that, I kept DD home from school yesterday because she was sick over the weekend and I thought she could use an extra day of rest (since Sunday was NOT restful). Today was supposed to be my long-awaited morning to myself. I had grand plans - none of which involved my beautiful kids. Sad, but true.
Well, at least we can get some of our valentine crafts accomplished today. After I go take a shower. That I WILL do by myself!
