Concert Success

Well, the handbell concert is over and it was a huge success. Everyone did SO well, and the audience just loved it. We received so many compliments. All the ringers put in a lot of work and it really paid off. And I am so glad it's over! :-) I will post pitures and/or links to YouTube when things get uploaded.

We had a dress rehersal at 4pm that lasted about an hour and a half. The concert itself was just over an hour. My arm was so tired by the end of the night. And my feet - don't get me started.

We had about 175 people in the audience and raised $660 for our bell fund. How exciting!!!!

Time to start preparing for the next performances. Never a dull moment around here!

Remiss in my postings

I have been very lazy about my blog postings lately. Can I get away with an "I've been terribly busy" excuse? I'll leave that up to you. I'm looking at my March calendar and not seeing much white space. Oye.

Let's see, the first week of the month, I was watching my friend's two children (in addition to my own two). Her regular sitter has had grand jury duty one week every month for the past 2 years. Her stand in sitter quit 6 months ago and I've been filling in that one week every month for a couple months now. It hasn't been too bad, but it a bit crazy here that week!!!

Every Monday in March, I am going to a class at my church from 7-9pm. It's about finding closeness with God; hearing His voice. It's been really interesting and I'm enjoying going. Today, I had an epiphany: I think I am actually afraid to hear him - I don't think I want to hear what he has to say. Something along the lines of, "Girl, what HAVE you done with the life I gave you? You are way to freakin' busy!" Anyway.

I've had various meetings or dinner appointments on Tuesday nights. A meeting with DD's pre-school teacher to assure me she WAS ready to go kindergarden next year (!!!!). Randomly had a friend and her two boys over for "Crafts" on a Friday afternoon. Had the Orkin man in to set traps for mice and spray for other yucky bugs. Had the Orkin Mold Man come the following day to affirm that the yucky stuff in the basement crawl space, was, inDEED mold and needed to be dealt with. Yeah, well, it's been there for about 5 years now. It can wait a few more months.

(Phew - I'm only half way through the month here, folks!)

Last week DD and I had an appointment with the kindergarden for "testing". I haven't heard back from them, but I'm assuming she'll be allowed to go - she's pretty dang ready (in my own humble opinion!) Went to school with DD on Wednesday to be one of two class mommies to throw the Easter party. Yesterday there was no school, but Rita's was giving away free small Italian Ices to celebrate the (coldest yet) first day of spring. Yum! We met 3 other school families there and went to one's house for an impromtu play date. Ended up getting back to the house 10 minutes after Nana had arrived after her 6 hour drive from Buffalo (Woops!)

Today has been fairly relaxed (hehe). We hung out in jammies until 10, then we colored eggs and baked cookies. Later, I might even get out my Easter baskets and decorate this old house!

Have I mentioned my new business venture? Bead Retreat - jewelry kits. How fun is that?!!? Lots. So, I'm hosting a Retreat here at the house on Saturday and doing a "real" retreat for a friend next Saturday.

Next Sunday is the big Handbell Concert at Grantham Church (if you're in the area - 6:30 pm! It's gonna be a great show). Rehersals every Wednesday and Sunday night (two groups) have also been keeping my busy.

I tell you all this not to ilicit any sighs of sympathy, but to say - I've just been way the heck too busy to blog anything. And besides, what would I say? "Orkin man came today"?? :-)

Hope you enjoyed the update. Maybe in April I'll be able to post more regularly.
