Going to Grandma's

So, last week was a bit out of the ordinary for our household. First, Nana came on Monday because she and I were heading to Ohio for the Longaberger BEE. Monday night I hosted a Tastefully Simple party here (yum!) Tuesday we did some shopping and laundry and packing for the BEE. Wednesday, when Grandma came, there was much rejoicing because DD was heading home with her that afternoon. Nana and I left for Ohio and Grandma stayed home with the kids until DH came home from work. DD went to Grandma and Grandpa's for some good times. DS stayed home with DH. Thursday, DH had to work, so DS went to a friend's house for the day. Friday was all day one-on-one time for DH and DS. They did "manly" things like going to The Big Green Store, The Fish Store, and Play McDonald's (for those of you that don't know what that means, I shall translate for you: Dick's, PetSmart, and McDonald's on Carlisle Pike). That night they had pizza and watched a movie. Fun Times. Saturday they cleaned out the garage and went for a super fun bike ride.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Rockville, MD....DD was having a blast with Grandma and Grandpa. They went to a paint-your-own pottery place, played in the pool, baked cookies, went to the National Zoo, played in the fountain in downtown Rockville, went to the Claude Moore Colonial Farm, went to the park, rode the carosel and in general did a thousand and one things that Mommy would never attempt with two kids! She had a VERY good time. G&G got tired.

Meanwhile, somewhere in Columbus, OH...Nana and I were having a great time seeing new Longaberger products, learning new things in classes and spending too much money!

On Saturday, Nana and I came home and on Sunday, DH, DS and I drove down to Rockville to switch kids. (Nana went home).

Monday was my first day with DD alone in a LONG time. We had a standing play date with some pre-school friends at 10:30, so we went to the park for a while. Then we went out to lunch at "Salad Bar" (Hoss's) and on a whim driving home, I stopped at the salon and booked us for pedicures. Tuesday we did some shopping - we were in search of school uniform clothes. We also picked up a handful of crafts and spent a fair amount of time Tuesday afternoon doing those. Tuesday night was Daddy-Daughter one on one time and they went to a sports place and played mini-golf and lots of other crazy arcade games. I went to the library and got some books to read, then I read in the quiet that was my home. Wednesday morning, DD and I went out for donuts before Grandma came with DS.

Meanwhile...DS had a good time with Grandma and Grandpa as well. He got to play in the pool and go to the park and ride the train and in general have the complete and utter undivided attention of his grandparents. How fun for him!

When my mom came on Wednesday, I asked her when it was MY turn to go to her house for one-on-one time! :-)

Yesterday was the first day home alone with both kids in over a week. We did NOTHING. We never left the house (in the car - we did go out and play in the pool and walk down to get the mail). It was a little rough. Frankly....

I CAN'T WAIT FOR SCHOOL TO START AGAIN!!!!!!
