Well, this past week has been a whirly blur of fun activities. DH's sister came to visit. She is one of my favorite friends. We get along so well, it's almost scary! And she loves to hang out with the kiddos. She flew in from Missouri on Sunday afternoon and we spent the rest of that day just relaxing and hanging out. Here's a quick rundown of what we did this week:
Monday - we went to City Island and rode the train and the carousel. Then lunched at Perkin's and went home for naps. After naps we went to Oak Grove Farms for some veggies and cut some fresh flowers. We had a wonderful dinner of steak and corn on the cob. And ended the evening with some Olympic watching.
Tuesday - we went to the pool. It was a beautiful day! We spent close to three hours there. That night we had unexpected (but welcome) company for dinner and ended the evening with more Olympics watching.
Wednesday - we went to Hershey, PA and met Mimi and Nana at the Gardens. We spent about 2 hours walking around and enjoying the flowers and butterflies. But hunger soon became overwhelming and we headed out to Red Robin for a food fix. Then we went to Chocolate World, because, really, who can go to Hershey and NOT to go Chocolate World?! :-) We stocked up on some yummy things (like 2 foot long Twizzlers!) DH had to be in Baltimore that night, so it was just the 6 of us for dinner. We even did some beading, making lovely matching bracelets :-)
Thursday - BOYD's BEAR COUNTRY in Gettysburg, PA. Longaberger was there for Basket Fest. We started our day with a nice breakfast at the local dinner with DH, then came back to the house to get ready. We spent some time at the outlets and then headed over to Boyd's for (more) shopping and to make our baskets (way cool!) Met DH for dinner out at Hoss's where I realized I had left my camera in Gettysburg (ACK!) A disappointing ending to a very fun day.
Friday - we had no plans for this day! I got the call around 8:30 that they found my camera, so at some point in the day, we knew we had to go back to Gettysburg. Mimi was spending the day and night with her brother in Mechanicsburg, so we took her over there and then went to Starbucks for a coffee hit. Then made a drive by DD's school and found the doors open, so Nana and Auntie got to see her classroom and DD was able to meet her teacher's aide. (We go on Tuesday afternoon to meet the teacher and other students before the first day of school on Wednesday). Then we ran through the grocery store for dinner stuff (and the wine/spirit store for after dinner!) Went home for lunch and left the kids with Nana while Auntie and I went back to Gettysburg for my camer and a stop at Walmart for school supplies. Dinner and bed for the kids. Mojitos and dominoes for the adults!
Saturday - Auntie and Nana had to head home. We had breakfast at Dunkin Donuts and then Nana went to get Mimi and head to NY and we took Auntie to the airport to head back to Missouri. We came straight home to visit with some friends who were on their way home to Virginia. We had a GREAT visit (miss you guys!) After naps we went over to West Shore church for their community fun fest where the kids got to play inside a hot air balloon, climb and slide on inflatables, eat funnel cake and ended the evening with fireworks. It was a late night, but it sure was fun.
I'M TIRED!!!!
I can't belive school starts on Wednesday. But I'll blog about that later.
Good night.
